This policy explains how MDS SMART CONSULTING S.R.L. (Smart Residence), tax ID 40005082, Trade Register no. J20/1800/2018, registered office at str. Barna nr. 7, Moșnița Nouă, Timiș County, Romania, as data controller, uses cookies and similar technologies on smart-residence.ro.

The use of cookies is governed by Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (transposing Directive 2002/58/EC, “ePrivacy”), read together with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Law no. 190/2018.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They help keep your session active, remember your language, or retain items in your cart.
The site may also use similar browser storage (e.g. display preferences).
2. Why we use cookies
We use them to:
- run the online store (cart, login, checkout);
- remember your language and currency;
- store your choice regarding optional cookies (if introduced later).
We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or other tracking tools for advertising or audience statistics.

Strictly necessary, required for the site to work (session, security, cart).
Preferences, store language, currency, or other choices you make.
Optional (analytics / marketing), not active on the site at present. If we introduce them, they will only be enabled after consent via the on-site banner.
Legal basis: strictly necessary cookies and the preference cookies you set by explicitly choosing a language or currency are used to ensure the site works and to provide the service you requested, and are exempt from the consent requirement. Optional cookies (analytics / marketing) are used only on the basis of your consent, given via the on-site banner and which you may withdraw at any time.

The exact session cookie name may vary depending on server and store configuration.
5. Consent banner
On your first visit (or after clearing cookies), you may see a message at the bottom of the page:
- Accept all cookies, you consent to optional cookies should they be introduced. If we add such cookies later, we will ask for your consent again, for clearly specified purposes;
- Refuse, optional cookies are not used; only the strictly necessary and essential preference cookies needed to run the store remain active;
- Close (×), treated as a refusal: only strictly necessary cookies are kept. Closing or ignoring the banner is not interpreted as consent.
Your choice is stored in the policy cookie so the message is not shown on every page. Refusing does not prevent browsing, ordering, or payment, it only affects optional tools we do not currently use (see section 2).
6. How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent some features (cart, login) from working.
To reset your banner preference, delete the policy cookie; the message may appear again on your next visit.

7. Your rights
Values stored in cookies (session ID, language, currency, banner preference, etc.) may constitute personal data when they can be linked to you. In those cases you have the rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:
- information and access, to know what data is collected via cookies and why;
- erasure, where data is no longer needed for the site to work or for legal obligations (some necessary cookies may be set again on a new visit);
- withdrawal of consent, for optional cookies, via the banner or by deleting the policy cookie.
