Guided steam flow through the opening in the lid optimises cookware for hobs with integrated extraction, because the lateral opening can be aligned perfectly towards extraction. Another advantage is that the lid can stay on the pan while cooking, saving energy. Of course, the cookware can also be used on all other hob types.
